Photographer’s Tip #5: Lights and Sounds

This will determine the feel/mood of your reception. You know fully well that entertainment is nothing without a good setup and yes, without the best quality of lights and sounds, things can go so wrong. As photographers and videographers, lights and sounds are important to what we can capture and everything just has to mix well for us to get the best shots.

Photographer’s Tip #4: Cocktails

Prepare cocktails so your guests will not get bored and won’t be too hungry for dinner while waiting for you. This will even let them interact with your other guests. Your guests are one of the reasons why your wedding day will be special so why not give them a little treat?

Photographer’s Tip #3: Ideal Wedding Time

The best time to do a wedding here in the Philippines is from 3:00-4:00 pm. Your pictorial will be from around 4:00-6:00 pm just in time for the sunset and the reception/dinner afterwards around 7:00pm.

Photographer’s Tip #2: Coordinator

It is essential to have a coordinator and believe us when we say, you need one on your wedding day. Hire a very good coordinator, someone you can really trust and would understand your needs. The amount of stress you will be experiencing can be determined by the coordinator you will be getting. This coordinator can be your very own fairy godmother or the bad witch so pick only the best, the one who will help you achieve the fairytale you’ve been dreaming about. Even before the wedding day, you can already gauge if you hired a good one. Is he/she keen to details? Can he/she still show grace under pressure? Does he/she inform and remind you about every important matter or is it the other way around? Are your other suppliers well-informed about changes and updates? Keep in mind that the coordinator you will hire will play a very vital role on your wedding day and again we say, you deserve the best so go ask your friends who already got married about the best coordinators in the industry. Join wedding portals and read wedding/bridal blogs. These may help you in choosing. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Photographer’s Tip #1: Hair & Make-up

A really talented hair and make-up artist will help a lot in bringing out your best look on your special day so it is recommended to have a trial session with your chosen artist before the wedding so you know you’re in good hands. Hair and make-up must be done 5-6 hours before the ceremony time. It would be better if you have a specially assigned hair and make-up artist who can focus on the bride. Make sure to inform the artist of the schedule especially the starting time of the ceremony so he/she can be at the preparation area as early as possible. Late preparations are a common cause of delay so avoid it!

Hair and make-up for the couple and entourage should be finished within 2-3 hours before the ceremony to allow your photo and/or video supplier/s to have enough time to capture your gorgeous faces.
